Artist

Residing in North Delta B.C., Canada, Christy Carter is a self-taught artist who works at home in her studio, surrounded by the four humans she loves and her dog Bradshaw. Christy is surrounded by nature from the mountains to the sea and everything in between. There is no end to the inspiration, all she has to do is look out her window. While she works, she listens to music and follows her creativity into her innermost being. Christy was exposed to life-changing events while growing up that could have left her feeling scarred, damaged, and used. Art and creativity provided her with a way to express herself while helping her get through these challenging years. Like her creations, she has transformed her life into what she wants, not what she had. Christy has many layers to her story just like her Art. So when she recycles these broken, unwanted items, it makes her feel empowered. Christy is hopeful that her works of art will inspire others to push forward and create the life they want. To uncover the value of recycling, repurposing, upcycling un-wanted items into creations of beauty and worth. Christy Carter's most satisfying moment was when she sold her first piece of art. It was a happy moment to see that someone else could share her vision. Christy decided to put herself out there recently and entered some online competitions. During an online competition with Grey Cube Gallery, Christy won an honorable mention on two of her creations for the Animal Art show in April 2021. Additionally, she is featured in the May 2021 edition of an online magazine (Outsider Art Magazine).
